Colbert Seagraves
Colbert, also commonly referred to as "Big Bill", has been involved in the bar business since working at the White Horse Pub as a bouncer/bartender in 1975. He has also worked at some of Winston-Salem’s hottest clubs, T.O.G. (Tavern on the Green), The College Pub, & Casablanca. In 1986, he, Barry Black, & Shutt Hartman bought Gatsby’s Pub from his former boss & good friend Bill Locke and the rest as they say is history.
Colbert has spent the past 52 years working in motorsports and on various teams in NASCAR, NHRA, & AHDRA.
He is an animal lover and he and his beautiful bride Teresa are the proud parents of two rescued Weimaraner’s Jemma & Loki. Colbert is an avid sports fan, having played Rugby for the Wake Forest University RFC and The Triad Dogs RFC. Gatsby’s is proud to be a sponsor of the local Carolina Thunderbirds and Colbert rarely misses the opportunity to cheer on his team from The Nest.
Colbert loves music and has attended 100’s of concerts ranging from the Allman Brothers to Z.Z. Top.
Barry Black
Barry got his start in the bar business in 1986 when he became a partner in Gatsby’s Pub. He and Colbert bought out Shutt Hartman and purchased the Gatsby’s building and property in 1990.
He has had a very successful 40-year career in the paper technology industry.
Barry is an avid UNC Basketball Fan. He was drafted by the Pittsburg Pirates Major League Baseball team, but an injury sustained in college derailed his Pro Baseball career. Barry was a member of the Poindexter Lumber ASA World Championship Softball team and is a member of the ASA Softball Hall of Fame.
He and his wife Linda have 2 children and 5 grandchildren.
Brent Gallimore
Brent is the manager and a minority partner at Gatsby’s Pub. He bartends on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday nights.
Brent has worked in the service industry since 2009 and has worked at various bars in Winston-Salem, including Wild Wing Café, Old Winston Social Club, J. Butlers, & the Crab Shack. While Brent may not remember your face, he will always remember your drink of choice.
Go ahead. Test him next time you stop in!
He is a rabid UNC basketball, Chicago Bears football, and Chicago Cubs baseball fan, but he loves all sports, especially his hometown Carolina Thunderbirds hockey team.
Brent is an animal lover and has 4 furr-babies to keep him busy and entertained. Known to visit the bar from time to time, you may see Lucy, his Rat Terrier; June Bug, a Chi-weenie and the Brent also has Rocket and Baxter, both are Mutts, he adopted off the street.
Brent loves four-wheeling and is a true Jeep man, owning two, a CJ-5 & a Rubicon.
Serenity Blackwell
The newest bartender to join the Gatsby's family is Serenity.
With a guaranteed smile on her face and that infamous twinkle in her eye, Serenity is your Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday bartender. While she is new to Gatsby's Pub, she has worked in the service industry since 2015.
As a proud American, Serenity served her country in the U.S. Airforce.
Serenity loves to spend time with friends and never turns down the chance to display her goofy side.
If you’ve met Serenity, you know that she values connection, adventure, and staying active.
